Hello from Holiday Lanes Corporate Headquarters (i.e. my home office).
We miss our bowling community . . . our leagues, our schools and daycares, our corporate parties and meetings, our glow in the dark weekenders! We want you to remain safe and well. Please follow the science and the guidelines, not anyone’s opinion or feelings about this crisis. Best news I am seeing is on C-Span (the unfiltered news without opinion or editorial.) I am seeing the Senate Floor, the House floor, unfiltered press conferences. I am listening to the scientists who have experience with previous outbreaks, like Anthony Fauci and Larry Pleasant. Google them and listen.
We want to be open and we do not know when we will be again. Soon as they will let us, the managers at Holiday Lanes will be ready. We aren’t just sitting home moping around. We are reinventing ourselves and how we do things so we can be more efficient AND MORE FUN!
I don’t like scary movies, but I watched Contagion. It didn’t scare me for some reason and there were some parallels to our current crisis. Send your movie recommendations to me on a text!
I am reading the The Great Influenza by John M Barry about the 1918 flu pandemic. That is an eye opener. It’s over 1000 pages so it will keep me busy.
The Senate will vote this afternoon on a $2 trillion stimulus package to stabilize those of us who have been floored by the coronavirus impact. Congressional aides are scrambling to write it. The House of Representatives will vote tomorrow, I hope. It looks like it will be good for bowling in Bossier and will save our crew from the worst of the economic impact. We just need to stay healthy.
That means, social distancing. Go get your supplies at stores less frequently, order pick up groceries. Stay in touch with each other virtually . . . phone or FaceTime or FaceBook. Wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands. Pray for our leaders to make good decisions. Play with your dogs, talk to your cat.

We are closed until further notice at the direction of Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards.
Governor Edwards will be advising us before April 21 regarding when we can reopen.
We are calling everyone with a reservation deposit to offer a refund. We can reschedule you if you prefer, but we still cannot know when we will reopen.
We are unable to answer all of our calls right now. If you need to speak to us, please leave a voice or text message at (318) 518-6280. We will prioritize your calls.
The US Surgeon General is advising all to act AS IF they are carrying the virus in order to slow the spread of novel corona virus.
We will bowl again! For now, it is “one day at a time.” Stay well. We care about our partners and customers.

Things change fast. Let’s slow everything down and stop this novel corona virus. We have decided to close for several weeks to do our part.

We closed today (Monday) all day to catch a breath and reset so that we can take care of our bowlers and our crew amidst this health crisis. We will remain open until such time the recommendation is to lock down.
Our first step is to announce a limited schedule, especially for the café which will offer a temporarily limited menu. We will open a bit later and close a bit early. We will do our best to spread bowlers out and abide by a modified group limit of 50 as recommended by CDC. We believe that by spreading bowlers out, we will be able to safely host 50-100 people in the building at a time. This schedule is tentative and may change, so please check back frequently.
